Pakistani Star Yousuf Now in ICL
One of the senior Pakistani batsmen Mohammad Yousuf (born 27, August 1974) has already flown to India to play the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) in spite of his selection on 3 November Monday in the national team for three one-day international matches against West Indies in Abu Dhabi this month.
Here on Monday, in a news conference Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) operations director Zakir Khan said, “He (Yousuf) didn’t tell us he was going to India. We heard about it ourselves two hours back. We called up his home and his wife has confirmed he has gone to India to play in the ICL.” He added, Yousuf would be banned from all cricket in Pakistan if he played in the Twenty20 competition.
On the other hand, The ICL authority already filed a legal case against this Pakistani star batsman with an arbitrator in Mumbai, India for breach of contract after he (Yousuf) first signed for them in August of 2007 and after that returned his advance payment and decided to get an agreement in the officially approved Indian Premier League. But that case is still pending.
The news, Yousuf has joined ICL, shock to Pakistani cricket fans and well-wishers since just a few hours earlier Yousuf was named in the national team squad to play three one-day internationals. He has been served for Pakistan National Cricket Team since 1998.
