July 16th, 2009 admin Sports News 0

Health officials of New Zealand are advice rugby supporters to stay away from the Tri-Nations rugby Test between Australia and New Zealand if the fans have any swine flu symptoms. Rugby is the national sport for New Zealanders. They are passionate about rugby. However, Fran McGrath, the deputy director of public health, urges residents to stay home and enjoy the game on TV if they feel they may be sick.

On Thursday, McGrath said to the New Zealand Herald “If you have symptoms, don’t go… you might feel well enough, but be considerate to everyone else.” Additionally, healthy fans were suggested not to share drinks and use a hand sanitizer before taking any food and to “Try to stay one-meter (yard) distant from anyone who’s unwell, although it’s a bit hard to tell”. McGrath admitted the recommendation may sound “pious” for a rugby game, though it was essential to get an alcohol-based hand gel as the A(H1N1) virus can stay alive on surfaces like hand rails.
