In the middle of a big terror attacks on Mumbai (Bombay), visiting Argentina football legend and national coach Diego Maradona managed to bring applaud for the citizen of Calcutta.

Football icon Diego Armando Maradona arrived to a stirring reception by thousands of frenzied fans who stayed awake till past mid night carrying Argentina’s national flag for first sight of the legend at the city airport. He was come with by his girl friend Veronica, and a personal assistant. Security planning was heavy for Maradona from the time he arrived at midnight on Friday. 5,000 strong security men had a traumatic time to control the surging crowd.

He gives assurance to help for opening a football school on the first day of his visit to encourage the sport in India, which is being set up to guide young talents and help extend the sport at a grass roots stage. In this purpose, he helped lay down a foundation stone for the Indian Football School. Others, in her tour Maradona also went to the house of Mother Teresa. Inside the Mother Home, he prayed with the nuns for a while, picked up books on the life of the late Mother Teresa and shook hands with orphans brought up by the Missionaries of Charity.
