Andrei ArshavinAndrei Arshavin has openly declared that apart from Russia, Barcelona is his favorite club. But the striker refused to join in Barcelona and make a bond with Arsenal for £15 million. After moving to England in January, now the striker opens his mouth why he did not move to Nou Camp. He told the Daily Mail,

“I did have an offer from Barcelona but Zenit were not happy. I try not to think about what could have happened and at least at Arsenal I am playing. At Barcelona I think I would be sitting on the bench, like Aliaksandr Hleb”

He also added,

“Which player could I replace? Thierry Henry? No, he is too good and I think Messi will be the World Player of the Year. If I could vote it would be for Messi. Even if you just count the goals and the beautiful passes and look at it statistically, Messi would win over Ronaldo.”

“It has been close but Messi has been better. So where would I play at Barcelona?”

The Arsenal striker also revealed that he never wanted to participate in Serie A League of Italy. He indicated that he don’t want to play in Italy due to the defensive style of the league. He said,

I enjoy the honesty of English football, because nobody gives up, and almost all the best players are here. Italian football is at the bottom because of all those scandals. Their league is not very interesting.

Marinho and FergusonThe Red Devils are being unstoppable and performing at their best in this season. At this moment, the man behind the wheel Sir Alex Ferguson wants to quit at Old Traffort.

Mourinho’s Inter Milan travel to Manchester United in this Wednesday, for the return prop of their last-16 Champions League fight with the Red Devils. Having drawn the first crutch 0-0 at the San Siro, Inter will imagine their chances of creating a major upset by dumping Ferguson’s men out of the competition they won last May in Moscow.

Mourinho’s such performance puts him under the spotlight and creating more weight to rumors that he is been targeted as Ferguson’s replacement.

Mourinho told News of the World that “I have big jobs left in me that is for sure – but I can’t commit to which ones,”

He also added “If you want me to rule out ever being Manchester United manager I can’t. Special clubs need special managers so in theory it could work, but nobody knows what the future is in football. The England national team wanted me as coach and that is the biggest job in England.”

He also commented on Ferguson’s retire and said “How much time I can’t say, Sir Alex doesn’t look like he is ready to stop. But when you are managing a winning team you don’t want to stop – and if you have health then there is no reason to.”

In such declaration, Morinho may lead the Red Devils to the battle field. However, his heavyweight personalities in the English game are unsure as to whether or not it would ever happen.
