Naked Run to Attract New Sponsor

Pole Vaulting Champion Romain Mesnil ran naked with his pole through the streets of Paris to hoping to draw concentration for a new sponsorship deal. And the video of his naked run is now posted on YouTube.

It shows that worldwide financial downward spiral starts on to impact on the world of sports and in this critical economic situation, 31-year-old Romain Mesnil only used an unusual way to try to secure a new sponsorship contract. At the 2007 Athletics World Championships in Osaka, Mensil won a silver medal and at that time he was sponsored by Nike. But after expire it last year, Nike was not renewed. On his website he said that,

“It was probably for budgetary and strategic reasons. It’s the crisis.”

For this reason Mensil tries do something funny to get a new sponsor. Moreover, with looking for a sponsor he is hopeful to increase funds for two charities one to care for kids ill in hospital and the other for study into brain tumors.

Recently, lots of athletes face trouble of finding a suitable sponsorship deal as companies cut costs for the reason of the worldwide financial downturn. So now it is the time to see that is the funny effort of Mensil really works to get a new sponsorship.

Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker Get Married

andy roddick and brooklyn deckerTennis star Andy Roddick and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker married Friday night, at evening. (collected from People.com) It was declared earlier this week that the couple would be getting wedded this weekend at Roddick’s Austin’s home in Texas.

The beautiful 21 year old Brooke and her 26 year old tennis pro fiancé exchanged their vows throughout a candlelit ceremony and were joined by some of close relatives and friends. Among those invited close friend including tennis greats Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi were delighted to a melodious presentation by Roddick’s longtime friend, Sir Elton John. It was a friendly ceremonial with candles and tropical flowers. The bridesmaid dresses were strapless, chocolate colored gowns, and the marriage flowers were tropical. Dinner followed at Roddick’s beloved local state club. A family friend who presented on the ceremony told People Magazine,

They are absolutely perfect for each other. I think they knew that from the moment they met that they were perfect for each other.

Roddick and Brooke started dating in 2007 in March 2008 and the couple first got together after Roddick asked his manager to find her number for Decker, who emerged in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition.

All Pak Home Series Placed in Neutral Venues

pakistan cricket board logoAt last Pak authority realized that due to political and security concern, it is not easy to host international cricket matches in the country. So, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going to confirm very soon neutral venues for both Test and one-day international series so that according to schedule all of the series will be played during the next year. On be half PCB, board chairman Ejaz Butt and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Saleem Altaf would contact some other countries’ board officials like the New Australian, Zealand, and English at the forthcoming ICC Executive Board meeting to finalize the venues. The meeting would be held in Dubai.

One of the PCB officials said, “It is more or less obvious that for next one year we would not be able to host teams at home. So, we have decided to select the best options as neutral venues.” Further he said “It is more or less decided we will play New Zealand in a one-day series in Abu Dhabi and Dubai after the Champions Trophy this year and host them for Tests in Ireland and Scotland.”

He also added some other countries like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ireland, England Scotland, and Malaysia are being considered, too as probable neutral cricket venues by the board. Some sources said Ireland and Scotland were very much desperate to host several Tests matches to push the claim for their Test status strongly before the ICC. In October-November 2009 PCB was planned to host New Zealand. However, the Kiwis refused the proposal and cancelled the tour.
