Unauthorized Broadcasting Threat for Premier League

Unauthorized broadcasting makes a headache for the Premier League organizer in the United Kingdom because unauthorized broadcasting is a hurdle to earn revenue properly. That’s why; the authority has called for more hard laws against IT theft to prevent the unauthorized online broadcasting of football matches. According to Radio 4′s You and Yours program reports a website which links to unauthorized live broadcasts of Premier League and same type of other matches now attracts more traffic than the sites of broadcasters for example ITV .
That is a Netherlands-based site and gets funding from online bookmaker bwin, which sponsors Real Madrid and AC Milan. Bwin pays such a site for providing a link to it in order that users can place bets easily. On the other hand, the bookmaker said it was not breaking any laws. According to Akash Sachdeva of the law firm Allen and Overy, the legal implications are not clear.
The League authority said it was vigorously engaged in combating abuses of its rights. They think legal notices must sent to those found broadcasting matches to which they did not own the rights. However, a spokesman said when one site had been stopped, another would pop up. He said “This kind of use of our rights is illegal and we take any abuse of our intellectual property very seriously.” So, respective authorities think to make tighter law to handle this offensive.
